Executive searches and management recruitment services available from W.H. Gurley Associates depend on the category of position as well as the resources needed to effectively recruit, evaluate, and place candidates.

Search option available to a client company are:

Retained Search

  • Priority:Highest;
  • Category: High-level positions;
  • Representation: Exclusive (client company is presented exclusively to candidates and all candidates identified in the search process are referred only to the client company);
  • Fee: 33-1/3% of the first year's compensation;
  • Payment Schedule: One-third due before the search begins; one-third due upon presenation of a short list of candidates; and one-third on the date the candidate begins his/her new position. (The fee is not refundable.)

Engaged Search

  • Priority: Very High;
  • Category: Middle to upper-level positions;
  • Representation: Exclusive (client company is presented exclusively to candidates and all candidates identified in the search process are referred only to the client company);
  • Fee: 30% of the first year's compensation;
  • Payment Schedule: $5,000 engagement fee due before the search begins; balance is due on the date the candidate begins his/her new position. (The engagement fee is refunded if we are unable to provide at least two candidates who meet the agreed-upon specifications within 60 days);
  • Success Rate: 100%

Exclusive Search

  • Priority: High;
  • Category: Any level of position;
  • Representation: Exclusive (client company is presented exclusively to candidates and all candidates identified in the search process are referred only to the client company);
  • Fee: 30% of the first year's compensation;
  • Payment Schedule: Fee is due on the date the candidate begins his/her new position;
  • Success Rate: 85%

Contingency Search

  • Priority: Moderate;
  • Category: Positions for which the client company has a recurring need and/or is working with other recruitment firms to identify candidates;
  • Representation: Non-exclusive (multiple client companies and opportunities may be presented to candidates, and candidates identified in the search process may be presented to multiple client companies);
  • Fee: 30% of the first year's compensation;
  • Payment Schedule: Fee is due on the date the candidate begins his/her new position.
  • Success Rate: 30%
